Privacy policy

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run Offer Cabin:

• Account details: your name and email address, and a securely hashed password if you sign up with one. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and Google account identifier.
• Verification codes: one-time codes we email to confirm your address or sign you in. They expire after a short time.
• Saved offers and reviews: the promotions you save and any reviews or comments you post on an offer.
• Location: if you choose "Use my location", your browser shares your position so we can show nearby deals. We only ask with your permission, and you can pick a city instead.
• Notifications: if you turn on push notifications, we store the device token needed to send them.
• Usage information: when you follow a link to a merchant or bank, we record that the offer was clicked so we can measure which offers are useful. Our servers also keep standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and time of request) for security and troubleshooting.

How we use your information

• To provide the service: show offers near you, keep you signed in, and save your favourite offers.
• To send account emails such as verification codes and password-reset links.
• To send push notifications you have opted into.
• To publish reviews you choose to post, together with your name.
• To keep Offer Cabin secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
• To understand which offers and features are useful so we can improve the site.

Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. These are httpOnly cookies that scripts on the page cannot read. Your browser's local and session storage remember preferences such as your chosen location and light or dark theme.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run Offer Cabin, and only as much as they need. These include our hosting provider, our email delivery provider (for verification and reset emails), Google (for Google Sign-In and location search) and Firebase (for push notifications).

When you open a merchant or bank link, you leave Offer Cabin. That website's own privacy policy then applies. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account information while your account is active. Verification codes expire within minutes. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal information, except where we must keep some records for legal or security reasons.

Security

Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, sign-in tokens are kept in httpOnly cookies, and data travels over encrypted HTTPS connections. No online service can be completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Your choices and rights

• View and update your name and profile from your account page.
• Remove saved offers at any time.
• Turn off location access or push notifications in your browser or device settings.
• Ask us for a copy of your personal information, or ask us to correct or delete it.

Children

Offer Cabin is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Offer Cabin changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will let account holders know.
